Description
Macrophotograph of the surface of a printed circuit board. The olive green areas are copper conducting tracks of the circuit, covered with a protective varnish. The elongated brown areas are bare copper connectors, awaiting soldering to connectors on a microprocessor chip. The blue circles are connection points for other components such as resistors and capacitors, and to other parts of the product such as switches and dials. Printed circuits such as this are manufactured by a process involving photographic printing and chemical etching of unwanted areas. Magnification: x1 at 6x6cm size.
