We loved the T- shirt but needed the print for a cover for my husbands prosthetic leg. He was in an awful accident a year and lost a leg as a result. He is a Beatle Fanatic and we had to put them on his new leg. Thanks for the awesome art and it was the perfect size.

“Adder” highlights the use of gold in chip making. Early chips used gold on any surface that needed to conduct electricity. The base, or header, where this chip is placed is gold. Even the epoxy that attaches the chip to the base has gold in it. The purest of gold are the thin interconnect wires. 1/1000 of an inch in diameter and 99.99% pure gold, they connect the chip to the external leads. This half-adders chip's features can be seen very well. The top silicon layer is dark red in color and the lines of the silicon layer underneath can also be seen. The blue and purple cloud that surrounds the chip is the gold epoxy. A common misconception is that gold is the best conductor. It's not; copper is. Being so expensive, why is gold used? Well, it's sticky and shiny. Sticky in that it bonds well to silicon and metal. Shiny because it doesn't oxidize and corrode.
