Just what I wanted for a new iPhone. A special “Thank You” to artist ‘Serge Averbukh’ for the addition, at my request, to the design of my Navy rating, the lightening bolts (sparks as they are/were called) in the middle of the CPO insignia. I asked; he came through….When I use my phone, it brings back fond memories of my 20-year Navy career…. Thanks Serge….

The techician is wearing a protective suit to prevent hair, skin flakes and clothing fibres from contaminating the production facilities. Exposed computer chips are vulnerable to airborne dust and can be disabled by the slightest contam- ination. The air in the clean room is filtered to remove dust particles; its temperature & humidity are strictly regulated to prevent damage to the chips. In addition the chips are stored in boxes to give them further protection. Photographed at an Intel factory; the class-1 cleanroom has fewer than 35 airborne particles per cubic metre.
