'Discover' supercomputer. This supercomputer is the heart of the NASA Center for Climate Simulation (NCCS) in the USA. The computer consists of nearly 15,000 processors and is primarily used to create climate and weather modelling datasets that are made available to science researchers around the world. Discover-hosted simulations span time scales from days (for weather prediction), to seasons and years (for short-term climate prediction), and to decades and centuries (for climate change projection).
